Swivels and Breakaways

The OPW 241TPS Series of swivels are designed and rigorously tested for applications where easy nozzle and hose handling is important for customer convenience. Swivels are installed in between the nozzle and the hose to provide flexibility in the system to reduce customer strain, position the nozzle properly and reduce premature hose wear.

Features

  • UL and ULC listed for use in gasoline, diesel, and up to 10% ethanol blends.
  • Allows for easy nozzle positioning in fill pipes – Utilizing two planes of rotation.
  • Reduces premature hose wear – Utilizing two planes of rotation.
  • Added protection vs. thermal and chemical degradation – Dual Seals.
  • 50 psi (3.45 bar) maximum pressure.

The OPW 66V Series breakaways are designed and rigorously tested for use in today’s fuels. Installed on fuel dispensing hoses, they will separate at the designed pull force, reducing expensive damage to the dispenser and piping system. Internal dual valves close automatically during separation, stopping the flow of fuel from both the dispenser and the separated hose, reducing environmental and health risks of potential spilled fuel.

Features

  • UL and ULC listed for use in gasoline, diesel, and up to 10% ethanol blends.
  • Prevents Costly Damage to Dispensers – Pulls apart at less the designed pull force during drive-offs.
  • Certainty of Operation – Designed for single use, so you know it is replaced instead of re-assembled.
  • Prevents Hazardous and Costly Clean Up – Unique double poppet design closes leak path from both dispenser and separated hose side.

The OPW 66SB Swivel Breakaway is intended for easy installation at the nozzle inlet. The compact, lightweight design incorporates a 360° swivel rotation at both the male end and middle joint, with a simple and easily-reconnectable breakaway on the opposite end.

Features

  • UL and ULC listed for use in gasoline, diesel and up to 10% ethanol blends.
  • Pull Force – the 66SB will break away with a pull force of no more than 350 lbs.
  • Easily Reconnected at Waist Height – after relieving line pressure, simply push coupling halves together until latched. Reconnection force is approximately 15 lbs.
  • Protected Coupling and Poppet – the breakaway’s poppet and sealing surface are protected from impact during separation by a plastic sleeve.
  • Reduces Connections – the single-unit design replaces the standard swivel, breakaway and whip hose, eliminating possible leak points.
  • Double O-Ring Seal – both swivel joints are protected by a double O-Ring design.

The OPW 68EZR Reconnectable Breakaway has been designed for retail fueling operations to deliver an increased level of security in the event of a drive off. Not only is it the fastest and easiest breakaway in the industry to reconnect, but also the one that delivers the greatest peace of mind that it is securely reconnected. Built on the 66REC breakaway technology platform, the 68EZR delivers trusted OPW quality and proven technology at the lowest cost of ownership. The 68EZR is installed on fuel dispensing hoses and will separate when subjected to a designated pull force. Upon separation, the dual valves seat automatically, stopping the fl ow of fuel and limiting any fuel spillage, while protecting the dispensing equipment. For proper operation on high-hanging hoses, the OPW 68EZR must always be installed with a “straightening” hose, such as the OPW 66H. For low hose applications, the OPW 68EZR should be installed downstream of the retractor cable.

Features

  • UL and ULC listed for use in gasoline, ethanol blends up to 25% (E25), diesel, and biodiesel blends up to 20% (B20).
  • Pull Force – the 68EZR will break away with a pull force of no more than 350 lbs.
  • Unique Double-Poppet Design –features low pressure drop.
  • Coupling Halves – protected by proven plastic sleeves.
  • Easily Reconnected – features “Push-Twist-Click” technology; simply realign the valve, push in and then twist until you hear the audible click.
  • Cold weather compatible
  • Reconnection force of approximately 7 lbs.
  • Line Shock – the OPW 68EZR is able to absorb the effects of normal line shock through the unique design of the disconnecting features.
  • 50 psi (3.45 bar) maximum allowable operating pressure.

Indicator Paste

The H2O Plus+ Water Level Indicator Paste is a dark green paste that turns dark red when it comes into contact with water. The H2O Plus+ Water Level Indicator Paste is used to detect free water in almost all petroleum products as well as some petrochemicals. It has a toothpaste like consistency and is packaged in a 3.75 oz./106 g. Net Wt. jar.

Use:

Spread a smooth, even coat of the product on the bob or gauging device where you anticipate free water to be present. Lower the gauging device through the petroleum product to the bottom of the tank and leave it for approximately ten seconds or more. Heavier products may require a longer immersion time. If there is water present, the green paste will turn dark red contrasting to the green color above the water level. When reading the results, please note a straight demarcation on the gauging device.

Use in Ethanol Gasoline:

McCabe H2O Plus+ Water Level Indicator Paste can also be used to determine the presence of water and water/alcohol bottoms in ethanol gasoline. There are gradient color changes as one moves through the spectrum of possible water/alcohol concentrations. The normal dark red color change seen when gauging just water bottoms is also seen in water/alcohol bottoms where the bottoms range from 0% to 35% alcohol. Thereafter, the dark red color change lightens to a fuchsia/light purple change in a 50% water/50% alcohol bottom. When the water/alcohol bottom reaches approximately 75% alcohol, the color change is an off white up to 99% or more alcohol (mainly an alcohol bottom).

Please note that you can also do an outage gauge / top gauge to see if ethanol is suspended in your gasoline. The dark green paste will bleach or lighten when it comes in contact with ethanol gasoline. The paste will not change color when in contact with regular gasoline or ethanol gasoline with complete phase separation.

Storage:

Keep the caps tight to avoid moisture contamination. Store between 50 – 85 °F / 10 – 29 °C

Shelf Life:

3 Years

The gasoline paste is a light sky blue paste that turns a darker blue when immersed in gasoline, diesel, kerosene, naphtha, #2 heating oil, light crude oil, jet fuel and others. It has a toothpaste like consistency and is packaged in a 3oz./85g. Net Wt. jar.

Use:

Spread a smooth, even coat of the product on the bob or gauging device where you expect the air/product interface to be located. Once entering the product, leave immersed for approximately ten seconds and the paste will turn a darker blue. When reading the results, note a straight, sharp demarcation on the gauging device, light blue above/dark blue below.

Note:

If the gasoline paste separates over time, stir to remix to its original light sky blue color with a toothpaste like consistency before use.

Storage:

Store between 50 – 85 °F / 10 – 29 °C

Shelf Life:

3 years

Sar-Gel Water Finding Paste

A thin layer of indicating paste is applied to a gauge stick prior to placing the stick into the storage tank liquid. Observe the color of the paste upon the removal of the gauge stick to determine the presence of water or gasoline.

Finds water level in gasoline, jet fuels, fuel oils, oils, and many solvents. Intersection line between white and red indicates water line in tank.

Thread Sealant

Gasoila thread sealant is a Soft-setting non-toxic PTFE paste that provides a positive seal on pipe threads, joints, fittings, LPG, hydraulics, engines and more. Gasoila has excellent resistance to gasoline (up to 20% alcohol and petroleum blends), diesel oil, propane, butane LPG acids, cutting oils, potable water, steam and more. NOT for use with Oxygen. Gasoila will handle pressures up to 10,000 psi for liquids or 3,000 psi for gases.
